Top Tiling Bathroom Ideas

Posted on by Merlin Marrero

INDUSTRIAL CHIC

Designer Deirdre Doherty gives a fresh look to this bathroom in an old Spanish Revival. The distance feels new by mixing in a little bit of industrial chic. (The wall tile is Michael S. Smith for Ann Sacks and the floor tile is Cluny by Granada Tile.)

BRIGHT BLUE

Adriatic Sea tiles by Fireclay Tile lineup the shower in Justina Blakeney's "Jungalow." The pattern -- and trio of markets -- set a jewel-like mirror off.

GOLD LEAF

"I've always loved these glass gold-leaf tiles ... they are so Liberace!" States Bailey McCarthy of Ann Sacks's Davlin collection. A classic chandelier and Calacatta Gold marble create the remodeled master bath a real showstopper.

Shower Doors

SPANISH COLONIAL

In a Spanish Colonial-inspired powder room, the graphic tiles are original to the Richmond, Virginia, house.

WHIMSICAL COMBO

Graphic Escher tiles by Amethyst Artisan and zebra wallpaper elevate a kids' bath in an apartment decorated by Miles Redd.

COLORED GROUT

Gray-grouted Nemo subway tiles line the walls of an apartment's next bathroom.

HONEYCOMB

Glass doors place a bathtub on full display, so Matthew Quinn played up the view using Origami Kiki marble tiles out of AKDO. The irregular pattern and hexagonal shapes "are lively, but the neutral palette makes certain it isn't too loud visually," he states. He maintained the rest of the shower unobtrusive using AKDO Soft Gray marble tiles.

BUILT-IN FRAME

A geometric layout encloses the mirror and sconces at a New York bath, with tile by Studium.

YELLOW STRIPES

Glass tiles from Waterworks line the walls and floor in the guest bathroom of this California country home by designer Jay Jeffers. The space breaks up and include a note of whimsy.
